Depending on the amount of pressure under which the scar is put, some people are able to exercise successfully earlier. The patient is alerted to over-activity by pain in the scar, and as a result the advice given by most surgeons, for their own as much as the patient’s safety, is not to exercise for six weeks. The time that this takes is fairly constant in all individuals, whatever their state of fitness, and healing must be allowed to occur to prevent weakness in the scar line and the potential for rupture or herniation of the abdominal contents through the weakened muscle.Īfter surgery, mobilisation is always encouraged, particularly to prevent complications such as deep vein thrombosis. Only later does the scar tissue become more flexible and adapt to movement – so that the pain on stretching disappears. Initially a thickened, inflexible scar join forms with nerve endings that rebel if stretched – causing pain. However the muscle has to take the strain of intra-abdominal pressure, and as you will probably be aware, healing occurs in two stages. Once sewn up again, and providing that there is no infection or other complication, the peritoneum will heal within days, as will the fat and skin. Do you agree? A This is actually a surprisingly common question, and while abdominal surgery sounds quite nasty – getting into the abdominal cavity requires an incision through skin, fat, muscle layers and the peritoneum (the membrane that covers the internal organs) – recovery should be relatively swift. I think that this is on the excessive side because I feel fine, and the scar is healing rapidly. Q I’ve recently undergone abdominal surgery, and the hospital physio has advised me to wait for three weeks before running. ![]()

![]() That's what you want from a VR game: to feel like you're really chopping down trees or crafting something. I'm highly impressed with the embodied actions for this game. hehe.Ĭrafting a handle for a tool is no joke. ![]() I figured I'd invite people from my work to play this with me if they're interested, and so far the only person I've got onboard is my boss. Once making it out of the tutorial server, I made my own server and wandered into the wonderful blank slate of a brand new game. Finding the mute voice chat button while in the tutorial server was my number one priority. There were a couple kids in the voice chat being obnoxious, and I get plenty of that at home. The tutorial server is a public server, however, so I found it. The game itself is pretty light on tutorials, but it does have a tutorial server that walks you through the basics of gathering stuff, exploring, making tools, and crafting your first backpack. The game NEEDS a wiki, which by its very nature shows you how intricate (or confusing, based on how you view it) this survival game is. ![]() It has 82k followers in its official Discord channel and a really deep wiki to back the game up, which is needed btw. The interesting thing about this game to me is that for a VR title, it actually has a surprisingly robust community. ![]() The other really important note here is that currently as of this writing, cross platform servers aren't a thing, so I can't have my PC friends come join me in my Oculus games and vice versa. On the PC version, you'll have to become a supporter (subscription based) in order to make your own servers. The main difference between the versions is that on the Oculus version, you get the ability to make a server of your own. The tunnels were only used in Magic Kingdom due to financial constraints, but they were meant to be employed in all subsequent Walt Disney World parks. The utilidors were only built in the initial construction and were not extended as the park expanded. The area around the utilidors was filled in with dirt removed from the Seven Seas Lagoon, which was also being constructed at the same time. This means that the park itself is actually built on the second story, giving Magic Kingdom an elevation of 107 feet (33 m), although the incline is so gradual that guests can hardly notice it at all.
